Gran Orendain Reposado Tequila is produced only from the most carefully selected agaves from the region of ‘El Cerro del Tepecoste’ - an area that Gran Orendain believes has the best conditions to grow the finest agaves for tequila-producing.

The company was founded back in 1926 by Don Eduardo Oredain and has remained in the family since then. Don Eduardo Oredain had been working in the industry since he was a child and believed that his passion for tequila-producing, combined with time, patience, and sticking to traditional values would enable him to excel as a tequila producer in his own right. Now, almost a century later, Gran Orendain and the Orendain Family are considered among the top tequila producers in Jalisco, Mexico - the home of tequila.

With over 90 years of experience and refinement, their tequila is made from 100% hand-picked agaves. The Orendain family uses 7 to 8-year-old ripe agaves and carefully selects them from the highlands of ‘El Cerro del Tepecoste’, a region in Jalisco, Mexico that the family believes to have the best conditions for growing a mature agave crop at the highest level. After harvesting, the agaves are cooked and then crushed to extract the sweet juice known as ‘aguamiel’ (Spanish for honey water). The aguamiel is then fermented in stainless steel pots. While it is still being fermented it is known as ‘mosto vivo’ (live must), and after fermentation it becomes ‘mosto muerto’ (dead must) which then gets triple-distilled and bottled up to be sent over to us in the UK.
