This dark amber-coloured anejo is made from the highest-quality mature agaves that have been carefully selected and hand-picked from the rich highlands of Jalisco, Mexico.

What makes Gran Orendain Añejo special?

The beautiful bottle that Gran Orendain Añejo Tequila rests in just exuberates tradition and professionalism. You can feel the flavour and richness just by looking at it. When you peel off the seal and hear that ‘pop’ as the cork comes out, you’ll immediately get a glimpse of Mexican heaven as the sweet scent rises out of the bottle neck and gently brushes the inside of your nostrils.

The Gran Orendain company was founded in 1926 in Jalisco, Mexico by the now-famous tequila legend Don Eduardo Oredain who had been working in the tequila industry since he was a child. The Gran Orendain Tequila has since made quite a name for itself. In fact, they were fairly recently awarded the gold medals for being ‘world’s best tequila’ at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in 2015 and at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2016.

Nose

When you give this añejo its first sniff and take a whiff of the sweet aroma of agave that’s been aged carefully in French oak barrels for over a year, your senses will light up! Followed by a gentle scent of caramel and orange, this sample of heaven might just make you melt.

Taste

A rich array of beautiful flavours of agave, oak and pepper will fill your palate, along with subtle hints of caramel and cinnamon. Your senses will think you’ve been transported to the Jaliscan highlands of Mexico itself, soaking up the warmth of the sun as you treat yourself to this blissful, full-bodied spirit.

Aftertaste

This Anejo has a fine, smoky finish, with tastes of agave and herb. While being rich in flavour, it remains easy on the palate.

The vibrant amber-coloured Gran Orendain Anejo is gorgeously presented in a magnificent round-edged bottle. Gran Orendain Añejo cocktail

We have a delicious cocktail recipe for you to enjoy! Spice up your Gran Orendain Anejo Tequila with a touch of honey and some mild bitters with the Añejo Honey Sour

Ingredients:

• 60ml  Gran Orendain Añejo Tequila
• 22ml fresh lemon juice
• 15ml honey syrup
• Half an egg white (optional)

Instructions:

1. Add everything to a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously
2. Add some ice and give it another shake
3. Strain it over some fresh ice into an old fashioned glass
4. To finish, garnish it with a slice of orange
