This extra añejo tequila is aged in French oak barrels for a minimum of 3 years. With a full-bodied palate of agave, oak, caramel and a touch of cognac, as soon as this golden liquid enters your mouth you’ll be hit with an experience of real Mexican culture and the Jaliscan people’s love and endearment for this traditional spirit.

What makes Gran Orendain Extra Añejo special?

Gran Orendain Tequila has won multiple gold medals and was voted the world’s best tequila in 2015 at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and in 2016 at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Gran Orendain Extra Añejo Tequila is made from carefully grown agaves from a region of the Jaliscan highlands of Mexico called ‘El Cerro del Tepecoste’. The family believes this area has the best conditions for growing an agave crop that fits the standard for their world-class tequila. Once picked, the carefully selected agaves are cooked and crushed to extract the sweet juice called ‘aguamiel’. It’s then fermented into ‘mosto muerto’ and finally distilled and added to the pristine Gran Orendain’s bottles, packaged and shipped to Premium Tequila in the UK so we can deliver it to your doorstep.

Ingredients:

• 2 oz Gran Orendain Extra Añejo
• ¼ oz Agave Nectar
• 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters
• Orange peel for garnish

Instructions:

1. Add all the ingredients to an old fashioned glass
2. Gently stir together for 60 seconds
3. Peel a strip around the skin of the orange
4. Twist it around the rim of the glass, then drop it inside the cocktail to finish

The Orendain Family – The producer of Gran Orendain Extra Añejo 

Gran Orendain Tequila comes from the Orendain Family lineage. They’ve been producing tequila since the 1800s. The Gran Orendain company, the makers of this heavenly extra añejo, was founded in 1926 by Don Eduardo Orendain and is still owned by the family to this day. Don Eduardo had been involved in the tequila industry working alongside his family since he was a boy - a true lover of the craft of tequila-making!
