Gran Orendain Blanco Tequila won the double gold medal at the annual Spirits Selection Competition in Brussels in 2022. They were competing against the best whiskeys, cognacs and brandies, plus other top tequilas. 

Gran Orendain will soon be celebrating its 100th birthday. The man behind the legacy is Don Eduardo Oredain who established the company after buying a small distillery in 1926  in Jalisco, Mexico.

Ingredients:

• 1.5 oz. Gran Orendain Blanco Tequila
• .5 oz. fresh orange juice
• .25 oz. agave nectar
• .75 oz. fresh lime juice
• (Optional): salt or sugar to give the rim some flavour
• A lime wedge to garnish

Directions:

1. Rub the lime wedge along the rim of the glass to wet it. Then dip the rim into the salt or sugar..
2. Combine all the ingredients into a shaker.
3. Add ice, shake vigorously, and strain it into a small glass.
4. Add fresh ice and garnish.

Where does Gran Orendain Añejo Tequila come from?

Gran Orendain Tequila Blanco comes from the Orendain family in the region of Los Valles in Jalisco, Mexico. The brand’s founder Don Eduerdo Orendain believed that the best way to excel is to do what you love. He’d worked in the tequila industry since he was a child and purchased his own small distillery in 1926 which he called ‘El Llinato’. This was later rebuilt in 1978 and the distillery now operates from the centre of the town ‘Tequila’ itself, the home of tequila.
