The purest liquid from the pioneers of high-end, quality tequila. Smooth, bright, and easy to drink. It has the crisper, fruitier taste of agave grown in the highlands. Great on ice and with lime. And a great place to start your tequila journey.
What makes Don Julio Blanco special?
Bottled straight after fermentation, Don Julio Blanco tequila is the truest expression of the Don Julio ethos. Founder Julio González-Frausto insisted soil, temperature, age of plant, bottle shape – all had to be just so. He ensured the pinas are cut into equal sized pieces, so they bake evenly. Each plant is treated lovingly. Each is given a lot of space to grow, while the grass and weeds are removed from around it.
Don Julio Blanco review
Nose
A light nose, not complex. Notes of lemon, lime, cooked agave.
Taste
Bright, smooth with only a mellow burn. Sweet citrus notes, roasted agave with a slight pepper taste too.
Aftertaste
A crisp, smooth finish with a little pepper.
Appearance
Julio González-Frausto wanted the perfect agave… and the perfect bottle. He designed it to sit low on a table and not get in the way of conversation. Short, round, very elegant, we think it brings a classy look to any room.

The different types of Don Julio
Don Julio Blanco. The Spanish word "Blanco" translates into the English word "White" these Blanco tequilas are also sometimes called Plata or Silver. All depicting a light clear substance.
Don Julio Reposado. The word "Reposado" translates into English as "Rested". This is a Tequila Blanco that has been rested in American White Oak barrels for eight months, so contains a small hint of light oak, slightly fused with flavour from the oak barrels. The colour of the liquid is also the lightest of all the aged tequilas and described as liquid gold in appearance.
Don Julio Añejo. The Spanish word "Anejo" translates into English as "Aged". This tequila is aged for 18 months in barrels previously used to age bourbon. The use of these old bourbon barrels leaves less of an oak taste when compared with other Anejos, instead leaving smooth, richly refined flavours with just the right amount of heat.
Don Julio 1942. The total time the 1942 tequila spends aging is 2.5 years and gives Don Julio 1942 a deeper and more hearty oak taste when compared to the Don Julio Anejo. The bottle is elegant, slim, smooth and arrives in a beautiful display box.

Where does Don Julio Blanco tequila come from?
Don Julio tequila Blanco starts life many thousands of feet above sea level near the town of Atotonilco, in the state of Jalisco. The icy nights and baking hot days makes for a better taste, even if it is a bit harder to make. Harvesting takes place as early as possible in the morning. Then the pinas are taken down the hill to the Primavera distillery.
Don Julio – The producer of Don Julio tequila Blanco
Way back in the 1940s tequila was not seen as a luxury spirit. Then Julio González-Frausto thought it would taste better if it was just given a bit more love. His hunch was that agave grown in the highlands would taste better from if grown on the plains. Julio was proved right, and a legend was born.
